Let's fly!Role and ResponsibilitiesPerform analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures including engine mount frames, cowls, fairings, ducts, and aeroshellsPerform hand calculations as the primary check and sanity basis for all structural analysisGenerate and run static and dynamic finite element models (NASTRAN or equivalent) for structural components and assembliesConduct loads analysis, vibration analysis, and crashworthiness analysis on flight-critical structural hardwareDevelop analysis in direct support of FAA certification substantiation, including STC-level stress reports and supporting documentationWrite clear, cert-ready stress analysis documents suitable for FAA/DER submittalBuild and maintain standardized stress analysis templates to streamline future certification substantiation workCollaborate with the Principal Structures Engineer and cross-functional engineering (propulsion, integration, systems) to keep analysis current with design and loadsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering5+ years of increasing responsibilities in structural analysis and validationExpert in aircraft structural analysis methods using CAD, hand calcs, and FEAExpert in drafting standards and ANSI Y14.5Proficient with aircraft structural materials including metallics and composites.Familiar with MMPDSFamiliar with FAA regulations and compliance standards for aircraft structuresProficient with Solidworks, NASTRAN FEA, and Microsoft OfficeDesired QualificationsMaster's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering10+ years of increasing responsibilities in structural analysisFAA structural DERParticipation in aircraft analysis projects that achieved FAA Part 23 certificationProficient with structural qualification testingProficient with Altair and requirements management toolsFamiliarity with thermal design considerations of engine nacellesSalary: $160,000 - $245,000 per year
