Supply Chain Material Manager
[HQ]- Full-Time Position
Verdant Robotics develops AI-powered farming implements and data solutions for agriculture. Our Sharpshooter enables transformative applications across all crops and field types through the power of Verdant’s proprietary Bullseye Technology with millimeter accuracy for weeding, thinning, and fertilization. We’re building hardware that pushes what’s possible — and we need hands‑on builders who’ve been in the thick of it. If you’ve spent time wrenching on autonomous systems, robotic platforms, or production machinery and you get equal satisfaction from a clean test fixture and a dialed‑in BOM, keep reading.
Our core technology empowers farmers to grow more profitable food. We use computer vision and artificial intelligence to understand every part of every plant at a massive scale -- and with automated robotics, we close the loop and act on that information in real‑time. Together with our partners, we are building environmentally‑friendly, sustainable, and highly productive farms.
What You’ll Do:
Own end‑to‑end material planning across NPI and early production builds (EVT, DVT, PVT, ramp)
Convert demand signals into purchase orders, supplier commits, and delivery schedules
Manage PO lifecycle: creation, tracking, expediting, and issue resolution
Maintain accurate system data (lead times, MOQs, safety stock, supplier commitments)
Own Clear‑to‑Build readiness across all builds, ensuring material availability aligns with production schedules
Identify shortages, mismatches, and risks early; drive mitigation actions cross‑functionally
Partner with engineering, production, and suppliers to ensure build execution success
Support S&OP planning by translating forecasts into supply plans and execution actions
Maintain supply‑demand alignment across changing priorities and imperfect inputs
Own inventory accuracy, material positioning, and allocation across builds
Manage excess & obsolete, shortages, and part transitions
Drive kitting readiness and material flow to support production
Act as day‑to‑day interface with key suppliers on delivery schedules and material readiness
Support early supplier engagement for NPI and long‑lead components
Improve data integrity and reporting within ERP/MRP systems
Create visibility tools (trackers, dashboards) for supply health and build readiness
What You Bring 8+ years in material planning, production planning, or supply chain operations in hardware environments
Experience supporting NPI builds
Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (NetSuite, SOS, or similar)
Experience with BOM structures, ECOs, and revision control
Proven track record of material lead time management, supplier commits, and PO execution
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments with incomplete data
Bias toward action and strong ownership of outcomes
Deep understanding of Clear‑to‑Build and production readiness mechanics
Highly detail‑oriented with strong operational follow‑through
Comfortable operating as an individual owner in a lean team
Strong cross‑functional communicator with the ability to work with engineering, operations, and suppliers
Nice to Have:
Experience in robotics, ag tech, automotive, or complex electromechanical systems
Exposure to contract manufacturing environments and build coordination
Experience with early‑stage startups scaling hardware operations
Familiarity with inventory accounting concepts (E&O, PPV, etc.)
Strong data analysis skills (Excel/Sheets, SQL a plus)
Compensation Target$135,000 - $165,000
Verdant reserves the ability to adjust the compensation range based on the final candidate’s experience, skillset, and geography. In addition to on‑target earnings, we offer equity grants, as every employee should have a stake in the company’s growth.
