Description: American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level 1 trauma hospital, requiring strong neuro/spine and ortho surgical experience along with robotics exposure. Details Acute care setting within a Level 1 trauma hospital of 250+ beds and 25 OR suites Unit averages 75 to 100 surgical cases per day1:1 nurse to patient ratio Straight evening shift, 1pm-9pm, Monday through Friday, with potential for 10-hour days Rotating call required 1 to 2 days per week and every 3 to 4 weekends Staff rotate through PM shifts as needed Rare floating to Broadway or South University campus locations Uses EPIC charting system Utilizes Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparoscopic equipment, arthroscopy equipment, and Stealth navigation for neuro cases
Requirements:
  • Active RN license (ND or Compact)BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent OR RN experience required
  • Large hospital experience (250+ beds) with Level 1 trauma status requiredExperience in acute facility with 15 or more OR suites required; outpatient center experience not applicable
  • Strong neuro experience focusing on craniotomies and spine required
  • Strong ortho experience required for case versatility
  • Experience with general surgical cases, GYN, urology, and laparoscopic procedures requiredExperience with robotics required, DaVinci experience preferred
  • Experience with surgical navigation systems required
Additional Information:
  • Function as a circulating nurse, documenting and caring for patients in the operative setting
  • Responsibilities include sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, positioning patients for procedures, and setting up OR equipment
  • Extended shift time beyond scheduled hours may be required as needed, not classified as call back
  • All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
  • Scrub color is Ceil Blue, provided by facility
  • Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
  • Candidates living 60 to 80 miles from the facility may be considered at a reduced local rate
  • Candidates with prior employment at Sanford Health must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration
