Currently, StaffBright has an exciting opportunity with a well-established global manufacturer that has been driving innovation in advanced technology for more than 100 years. As the company continues investing in automation and modernizing its manufacturing operations, they are looking to add a hands-on Manufacturing/Automation Engineer to their growing engineering team in North Carolina.
What You Will Be Doing: Support manufacturing operations by providing engineering expertise for production equipment and manufacturing processes. Design, develop, and implement automation solutions that improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency. Design and modify tooling, fixtures, machine components, and manufacturing equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, automation, and production equipment to minimize downtime. Create and maintain mechanical drawings and engineering documentation using SolidWorks. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on Lean Manufacturing, OEE improvements, cycle time reduction, and waste elimination. Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and operations teams to solve manufacturing challenges. Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend equipment upgrades and automation improvements. Manage engineering projects including equipment modifications, supplier coordination, installation, and implementation. Support equipment commissioning, validation, and startup activities. Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions for equipment and process issues. Assist with new product introductions through equipment and process development. What We Need From You 3+ years of Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience supporting production equipment on the manufacturing floor. Experience with automation systems, machine design, tooling and fixtures, pneumatic systems, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment. Experience creating mechanical drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, OEE, and cycle time reduction.
Preferred Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with PLCs, smart scanners, resistance welding, laser welding, assembly automation, robotics, or battery manufacturing.
  • Experience managing engineering projects involving equipment improvements, automation, supplier coordination, machine functionality, and implementation
