Department: Herpetology Title: Turtle Care Assistant

Pay Range: $18.00 per hour

Reports To: Curator, Collection Manager, Senior Keepers, Wildlife Health Center Staff

Schedule: 8:00am – 5:00pm

Position Summary: The Turtle Care Assistant will assist keepers and WHC staff with the daily tasks associated with the care of confiscated turtles/tortoises housed at the Bronx Zoo.

Responsibilities: Preparing and distributing diets Cleaning and preparing of animal enclosures Washing dishes Keeping work areas clean Basic turtle/tortoise husbandry (soaking, weighing, health assessments, etc.)

Qualification Requirements: High School Diploma (College coursework in related field preferred) Interest in reptiles and amphibians. Previous experience caring for reptiles and amphibians preferred. Location Bronx Zoo
