Our client is a cardiovascular medical device incubator focused on developing innovative technologies from initial concept through proof of concept and eventual company spinout. The organization operates as a small, highly collaborative team and works closely with external manufacturing partners throughout development.
About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer to play a key role in the continued development of a sophisticated catheter delivery system. This will be a hands-on position with broad responsibility across catheter design and development, testing, manufacturing support, and clinical case support. The ideal candidate will have significant catheter development experience and be comfortable taking ownership within a small, fast-moving medical device environment.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, prototype, test, and troubleshoot complex catheter delivery systems Support catheter designs involving multilayer construction, complex stack-ups, steering mechanisms, and significant articulation Work with technologies such as large-diameter delivery systems and laser-cut hypotubes Work closely with an external catheter contract manufacturer Support development handoff and technical activities with manufacturing partners Troubleshoot design and manufacturing challenges as the product progresses Provide engineering and technical support during clinical cases Collaborate closely with a small, cross-functional development team and take ownership of projects as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline Approximately 5–10 years of medical device R&D/product development experience preferred Strong hands-on catheter development experience Experience with complex or steerable catheter delivery systems Experience with multilayer catheter construction and complex component stack-ups Experience with large-diameter delivery systems and/or laser-cut hypotubes strongly preferred Experience working with contract manufacturers and supporting design transfer/manufacturing activities is a plus Strong mechanical design, prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting capabilities Ability and willingness to provide technical support during clinical cases and travel as needed Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team Local to the Greater Boston area with the ability to regularly work onsite in Burlington Dexian stands at the forefront of Talent + Technology solutions with a presence spanning more than 70 locations worldwide and a team exceeding 10,000 professionals.
