Are you ready to join Connecticut Innovation’s vibrant community of innovators? Connecticut Innovations (“CI”) is Connecticut’s strategic venture capital arm, and we are passionate about serving our portfolio of 220+ companies across various industries, with strengths in life sciences, technology, and climate tech. Come join Ultra Sight- AI Powered Cardiac Ultrasound, as their newest Senior Manager, Evidence Generation!
ABOUT THE ROLE: Ultra Sight built an FDA-cleared AI platform for real-time guidance of cardiac ultrasound image acquisition, on any device. We're expanding fast: our first clinical algorithm is already cleared for Impella heart pump management, with more in the pipeline. Clinical evidence is the fuel that powers Ultra Sight's commercial growth. It validates our products, builds the clinical case for adoption, and earns the trust of the clinicians and institutions we partner with. This role sits at the center of that engine — and uniquely, at the intersection of translational research, medical affairs, and commercial strategy. This is a rare opportunity to get in early and shape something that matters. If you are energized by ownership, scientific credibility, and the rare chance to build a function from the ground up at a company where evidence strategy is central to the business — this role was written for you. Study Portfolio & Operations Lead every study in the portfolio — investigator-initiated, retrospective, and regulatory-support work — from startup through closeout Build real relationships with investigators and sites, including regular visits, so studies stay on track and data keeps flowing Keep the portfolio audit-ready: documentation, SOPs, and governance frameworks that hold up under scrutiny Serve as the primary point of contact for all research sites, and the steady hand behind IRB submissions, site agreements, and budgets Evidence Generation & Publication Guide investigators through abstracts, manuscripts, and conference selection to get their work the visibility it deserves Keep a forward-looking evidence calendar so commercial and leadership always know what's coming Uphold rigorous standards of accuracy and publication integrity across every study output Grow the investigator network in step with our commercial and clinical roadmap Support the design, monitoring, and analysis of workflow and economic-impact pilots that extend the evidence base beyond traditional clinical studies Grant Strategy & Compliance Lead Ultra Sight's non-dilutive funding strategy, drawing on outside grant expertise as needed Identify grant opportunities and lead application development in close partnership with investigator sites, which often serve as the named applicant Own grant compliance end-to-end — reporting, milestones, and funder relationships Contractor & Cross-Functional Leadership Direct our external research resources — coordinators, CROs, biostatisticians, and compliance vendors Partner with Product and R&D so new algorithm and software versions are study-ready on time, and feed field insight back into the roadmap Be the research voice across Commercial, Regulatory/Quality, Algorithms, Medical Affairs, and OperationsQUALIFICATIONSUltra Sight treats its investigators as partners and customers. This role is highly relationship-driven — the right candidate brings both the scientific credibility to earn investigator trust and the interpersonal fluency to sustain it across a demanding, fast-moving portfolio. Required 5-8+ years in clinical research operations, translational research, medical affairs, or evidence generation — preferably in medical devices, digital health (SaMD), or grant administration Hands-on experience managing investigator-initiated studies or collaborative research programs from startup through publication Demonstrated ability to monitor studies, review source data, manage site budgets, and own vendor relationships directly Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills; comfortable in a customer-facing capacity with senior clinicians and academic investigators Working knowledge of ICH-GCP, ISO 14155, HIPAA/GDPR, and IRB/ethics submission processes Bachelor's or advanced degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Public Health, or related field Strong project management and organizational skills, with follow-through and high attention to detail Preferred Experience with non-dilutive grant programs and grant administration Familiarity with cardiac imaging, echocardiography, or point-of-care ultrasound clinical workflows Experience building or scaling a clinical research function at a startup or growth-stage company Patient-facing or clinical background a plusWORKING AT ULTRASIGHTUltra Sight is a growth-stage medical device AI company with a product pipeline that is expanding quickly. Clinical Research is not a support function here — it is a core strategic capability that directly determines how fast and how well we grow. You will own and build the clinical research function end-to-end — the systems, the standards, the investigator network, and the evidence pipeline that every future hire will inherit You will be in the field with investigators and sites — we treat them as partners and customers, and expect the same relationship-first mindset from you Your work will directly determine what Ultra Sight can publish, claim, and bring to market — the evidence you generate is the fuel for everything commercial and product do next You will work closely with executive leadership and have a direct line into product, algorithms, and commercial strategy — a real seat at the table, not just execution We offer competitive compensation including performance bonus and equity participation, comprehensive health benefits, and a 401(k) with company match.
