DefinitionThe City of Missouri City, known as the "Show Me City," is seeking an individual to join its Public Works Department. This is a full-time position with the City's Public Works Department. An individual in this position will assist with the operations of the City's Public Works Department, including the planning, operation, and maintenance of the water supply, distribution, and wastewater collection and treatment facilities. Reporting Relationship: Public Works Administrative Manager Examples of Work Implement and administer contract requirements, including processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders, monitoring budgets and expenditures, and providing billing information to the Finance Department. Input and maintain data required for reporting by the City to Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs), the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District, Gulf Coast Water Authority, and other regulatory agencies. Collect and compile data needed for studies, reports, plans, and projects; prepare, maintain, and manipulate spreadsheets and other data documents. Prepare and distribute educational materials; respond to telephone and email inquiries; and provide information to supervisors to support informed decisions regarding future operations, contracts, and educational needs. Schedule and coordinate meetings; prepare meeting agendas and information packets; attend meetings; and draft meeting minutes. Manage MUD- and water-related 311 service requests for the Public Works Department. Serve as the division's Cartegraph administrator, including data entry, system maintenance, and work order management. Process and coordinate the payment of utility-related invoices, ensuring invoices are reviewed, approved, and submitted for timely payment. Perform the duties of the Utilities Coordinator and/or Administrative Manager in their absence. Perform assigned duties as a member of the Public Works team during Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Subject to 24-hour recall. Education, Experience, or Certification An Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Management, Engineering, or Public Administration from an accredited college or university is desired. Two (2) years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of the desired degree.

Works as an essential employee before, during, and after emergencies or disasters, whether natural or man-made. Subject to emergency operations recall and other assignments necessary to maintain continuity of City services.
