POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide care to patients and to supervise Nurse Practitioners in the delivery of psychiatric medication management to patients in skilled nursing facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Training:
Medical Degree from an accredited School of Medicine. Completed Residency or Fellowship in Psychiatry.
Licensure / Certification:
- Licensed or eligible to practice medicine in New York.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible as Practicing Psychiatrist
- Current NY Drivers License
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of appropriate assessment and evaluation tools and tests, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
Strong skills in medication management.
Ability to work with nursing staff in collaborative approach to care.
Ability to utilize EMR system to prepare and maintain appropriate medical record documentation.
