Job Type: W2Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Equipment with strong mechatronics and manufacturing equipment experience to own equipment performance, reliability, production ramp-up, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on skills and experience supporting complex and first-of-its-kind manufacturing equipment.
Important Duties:
- Own the performance, reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment.
- Lead production ramp-up and manufacturing readiness for new and first-of-its-kind equipment.
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and design reviews from an equipment-owner perspective.
- Analyze production data and downtime trends to identify equipment problems, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop clear problem statements, project scopes, and execution plans for equipment-related improvements.
- Lead equipment improvement projects involving mechanical systems, tooling, fixturing, and station layout modifications.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and system-level equipment issues under production pressure.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment and production issues.
- Optimize equipment parameters, station configuration, process flow, and equipment performance in collaboration with Production and Quality teams.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Design and improve tooling and fixtures to minimize downtime and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Provide hands-on engineering and troubleshooting support on the manufacturing floor.
- Establish equipment standards, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices to prevent repeat issues.
- Collaborate with Equipment, Controls, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and Maintenance teams to drive execution.
- Monitor OEE, downtime, cycle time, throughput, and other equipment-performance metrics. Equipment Experience:
- Furnaces
- Web handling equipment
- Powder handling equipment
- Industrial mixers
- Resistance welders
- Laminators
- Automated manufacturing and assembly equipment
- Mechanical tooling and fixturing systems Must-Have Skills:
- 7+ years of applicable Manufacturing, Equipment, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Strong hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
- Experience owning equipment performance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and production ramp-up.
- Experience leading equipment improvement, tooling, fixturing, or automation projects.
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Experience using OEE, downtime, cycle time, throughput, and other production metrics.
- Strong cross-functional communication and project execution skills.
- Ability to work hands-on in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
