Senior Product Engineer, Health Tech Start-up (New York) Our client, a fast-growing Series A start-up in New York, builds the consumer app that walks people through government health cover from eligibility to renewal. The team has grown from 12 to 30 since the summer and plans to double again. There’s no separate product team. Engineers decide what gets built as well as building it.
What you’ll do:
- Own a slice of the product end to end: talk to users, make product calls, ship, and measure impact
- Build across TypeScript, React, Next.js, Python (FastAPI), Postgres and AWSWork on AI throughout, from voice and chat agents for users to document parsing and data pipelines behind the scenes
- Review code carefully. The team builds with Claude Code, so good review matters more than any one stack
- What they’re looking for2 to 6 years’ engineering experience, ideally including time at a high-growth start-upProduct ownership, with a preference for deciding what to build over picking up tickets
- Clear communication and a feel for how the work connects to the business
- Based in New York or relocating, and keen to work in person with the team
- Package$180K–$200K base plus equity
