Environmental Specialist III/IV

Overview In this role, you will manage and support enterprise-wide environmental programs with a focus on water, waste, and remediation. You’ll lead mid-to-senior level projects, collaborate with cross-functional partners, regulators, and external stakeholders, and help drive continuous improvement in environmental performance. The position sits within Corporate Environmental Programs, contributing to regulatory compliance, remediation, and sustainability across Williams’ assets. You will shape processes, training, and tools to advance environmental objectives and risk management. Compensation / Benefits Hybrid work Medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) with company match and annual contributions Paid time off and holidays Parental leave and fertility/adoption support Tuition reimbursement and continuing education Responsibilities Develop and maintain environmental processes and guidance; deliver required training Assess and address environmental risk with regulatory documentation as needed Plan and execute environmental projects, including scheduling, cost estimating, and impact assessments Prepare sophisticated permit applications and coordinate with partners for approvals Conduct environmental compliance audits and due diligence investigations Improve systems and practices in water, waste management, and remediation Support compliance reporting and documentation for environmental programs Cultivate relationships with regulators and ensure regulatory alignment Interpret federal, state and local regulations to ensure compliance Engage in cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Legal, Land, Engineering and external stakeholders Key requirements Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years’ environmental experience (Specialist III)Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years’ environmental experience (Specialist IV)Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; safety prioritization Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skillscommunicationcross-functional collaborationproblem solvingenvironmental data managementremediation and site closureenvironmental permits and approvals
