Overview:
We’re seeking a talented senior product designer who is eager to bring their expertise to the design of digital solutions for a flagship consumer website. You’ll need solid design instincts along with strong communication and teamwork skills, partnering closely with product teams to craft intuitive, engaging experiences. This is a hands-on position that spans the full arc of a project, from early concept work and prototyping through close collaboration with fellow designers, product managers, and developers to make sure what ships matches the vision.
Responsibilities:
- Weigh business goals and product needs against market research, customer feedback, site data, and usability results to create clear content structures and streamlined experiences
- Help plan and run user research to uncover needs, goals, and preferences, then fold the findings back into your work
- Present ideas through sketches, wireframes, or high-fidelity prototypes that can be shared with stakeholders and tested with users
- Produce design documentation such as user journeys, storyboards, site maps, wireframes, and prototypes that map out the information architecture and expected interactions so the experience feels cohesive from start to finish
- Partner with engineers to confirm designs are feasible and well executed, and explore alternatives together when scope or technical constraints come upContribute to QA as needed by documenting issues and improvement opportunities clearly
- Team up with analytics colleagues to define success measures after launch and use the resulting data to recommend refinements
- Help build and maintain the pattern library, design system, documentation, and templates to make future work more efficient
- Qualifications3–10 years of experience in information architecture and interaction design for complex web and mobile products
- A strong portfolio featuring IA and interaction design work across desktop and mobile; you’ll be asked to walk through a few projects from start to finish, explaining your process and your specific contributions
- Working knowledge of information architecture, usability, user-centered design, and interaction design principles
- Ability to turn requirements and concepts into flows, site maps, wireframes, and prototypes that clearly convey design intent to the project team
- Deep empathy for users, paired with the ability to connect their needs to measurable outcomes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the self-direction to juggle multiple tasks independently or with a team and minimal oversight
- Advanced skill with wireframing and prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Axure, Adobe XD)
- Familiarity with user research, usability testing, and site analytics is a bonus
- Solid grasp of web design approaches such as mobile-first and responsive/adaptive design
- Practical understanding of front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) as they apply to design
