MVA Services is seeking experienced Transformer Field Service Technicians to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of experience leading crews in the assembly, vacuum filling, commissioning, repair, and degassing of oil-filled transformers. This is a full-time, travel-based position requiring extensive travel to customer locations nationwide. Our technicians work directly in the field, providing critical transformer services to electric utilities and industrial customers.
What You'll Do: Lead and support field crews during transformer installation, assembly, commissioning, and repair. Perform vacuum filling and oil processing on oil-filled transformers. Perform transformer degassing and related oil-processing activities. Complete transformer repairs and re-gasketing. Perform electrical testing, including: Doble testingSFRACT testingTTRInsulation resistance Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and field personnel. Read and interpret transformer blueprints, drawings, and nameplate data. Follow all company and customer safety procedures and maintain strict OSHA compliance. Travel to customer sites throughout the United States as required.
Required Qualifications: 5–7 years of transformer field service experience, including crew leadership. Strong knowledge of transformer oil processing and vacuum filling. Hands-on experience with transformer assembly and re-gasketing. Experience performing electrical testing, including Doble, SFRA, CT testing, TTR, and insulation resistance. Transformer repair experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and transformer nameplate data. OSHA 30-Hour certification. Forklift, manlift, and rigging certifications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel nationwide.
Additional Qualifications: Preferred The following experience or certifications are a plus: Experience working with 765 kV EHV transformers. Energized hot-oil reclamation processing experience. Class A CDL.Load Tap Changer (LTC) repair experience. Crane certification. Schedule & Travel Full-time
