Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist

Provides technical leadership for laboratory personnel and performs chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and related testing. Responsibilities include coordinating daily work, investigating unexpected results, monitoring quality control and inventory, supporting improvement activities, and training laboratory staff and students. Plan and coordinate daily activities for laboratory personnel. Perform preanalytic, analytic, and post-analytic biochemical and hematologic testing. Investigate technical, instrumental, or physiologic causes of unexpected test results. Monitor quality control and inventory of supplies and reagents. Participate in performance improvement and evaluation of new testing methods and instrumentation. Train and orient laboratory employees and clinical laboratory science students.
