LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected law firm to recruit an experienced Conflicts Attorney. This position is ideal for an attorney with a strong legal background and demonstrated experience analyzing conflicts of interest, advising on ethical issues, and supporting law firm risk management initiatives. The firm is seeking a candidate with at least five years of legal practice experience and a minimum of two years of dedicated conflicts experience.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze potential conflicts of interest associated with new clients, new matters, lateral attorney hires, and business transactions
  • Conduct detailed conflicts research and provide recommendations regarding conflict resolution strategies
  • Advise attorneys and firm leadership on ethical obligations, professional responsibility considerations, and conflicts related issues
  • Draft and review conflict waivers, engagement letters, ethical screens, and related risk management documentation
  • Collaborate with firm leadership, intake teams, and attorneys to facilitate timely matter openings
  • Research corporate affiliations, ownership structures, and related entities to assess potential conflicts risks
  • Assist with the development and implementation of conflicts and risk management policies and procedures
  • Review outside counsel guidelines and evaluate potential compliance concerns
  • Analyze complex conflicts reports and provide practical recommendations for resolution
  • Support firmwide risk management, compliance, and business intake initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records within conflicts and matter intake systems
  • Train attorneys and staff on conflicts related processes and best practices as needed
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor degree and active admission to at least one state bar
  • Minimum of five years of legal practice experience
  • Minimum of two years of conflicts attorney, conflicts analyst, risk management, or related law firm experience
  • Strong understanding of legal ethics, professional responsibility rules, and conflicts of interest analysis
  • Experience reviewing and resolving complex conflicts issues within a law firm environment
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Experience working with conflicts databases, intake systems, and legal technology platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience clearing conflicts related to incoming partners and lateral attorney groups is strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting large or midsized law firms with sophisticated practice areas and client relationships
  • Familiarity with corporate, litigation, intellectual property, labor and employment, private client, and transactional conflicts matters
  • Experience drafting conflict waivers, ethical screens, and engagement documentation
  • Knowledge of Intapp, Elite, or other law firm conflicts management platforms This posting is a representative sample of the types of roles we typically place with our clients.
Pay Range: $140,000-280,000 a year
