Quality Assurance Manager | Building Envelope & Constructability Are you a construction or design professional with deep expertise in building envelopes, waterproofing, façades, and constructability? This is an opportunity to step into a highly influential role where your technical knowledge will directly impact the quality and success of major construction projects throughout the Bay Area. Rather than focusing solely on field inspections or traditional QA/QC documentation, this position is centered around design review, constructability, building envelope performance, risk identification, and developing better solutions before problems reach the jobsite. You will work alongside architects, engineers, consultants, manufacturers, subcontractors, and preconstruction teams to identify potential issues early, develop solutions, and establish best practices across complex projects ranging from $5M to more than $200M.What You’ll Do As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will serve as a technical resource throughout the design and preconstruction process. Perform detailed constructability reviews of design documents across multiple project phases Focus heavily on building envelope systems, waterproofing, roofing assemblies, windows, storefronts, accessibility, and other high risk areas Identify design deficiencies, constructability concerns, and potential performance issues before construction begins Develop practical solutions and recommendations when designs fall below established standards Review designs for compliance with California building codes, accessibility requirements, and applicable regulations Lead design review meetings with architects, consultants, project teams, and other stakeholders Collaborate closely with Preconstruction and Estimating teams to identify risks and opportunities early Work directly with waterproofing consultants, manufacturers, specialty contractors, architects, and engineers Assist in developing RFIs and technical questions for design teams Research new products, materials, systems, and construction practices Help transition projects from Preconstruction into Operations by communicating key QA and design issues Help develop and maintain company wide QA/QC standards and best practices Train project teams on QA/QC standards and building envelope best practices Stay current on California building codes, products, technologies, and industry developments Support multiple project teams simultaneously while serving as a trusted technical resource Why This Role Is Different This is a technical leadership position, not simply a traditional QA/QC management role.
