The Rehabilitation Coordinator/Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in managing the day-to-day sports medicine operations for a professional soccer team. In this capacity, the Assistant Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist provides injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for players medical pathologies. This individual will work under the direction and supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, Team Chief Medical Officer, and First Team Technical Staff. The Assistant Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist will also be responsible for the rehabilitation of the First Team Athletes and will coordinate with the Head Athletic Trainer, CMO, and performance staff on the plan of care for injured athletes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs as Certified Athletic Trainer in managing the health care of players. Health care includes, but is not limited to: first aid / emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, developing rehabilitation and prevention programs, as well as conducting rehabilitation and making medical referrals
Perform physical therapy services for the team's players in conjunction with the Head Athletic Trainer, as ordered by the CMO
Provide up-to-date PT evaluation, plan of care, progress, and discharge notes maintained in the League-provided EMR system.
Maintain a complete and up to date roster of player health and participation records in the League-provided electronic medical record system.
Order, maintain and inventory supplies and clinical equipment
Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to work effectively with players, coaches, other team personnel and Academy staff
Comply with all US Soccer medical policies and protocol
Comply with OSHA Standards with regards to blood borne pathogens
Special projects and assignments as business dictates
Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAA.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum four (4) year Bachelor's Degree
Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT)
2-4 years of experience in the field of sports medicine
Medical soccer experience preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle or feel
The employee frequently is required to talk or hear
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, bend at the knees

The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
NATABOC (or CATA) Certified Athletic Trainer
Passed National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE)
In good standing with NATABOC and a member of the NATA (or CATA)
In good standing with State Licensing Board of the State practicing in
State License in the state of Massachusetts
Current professional CPR certification
Possess personal professional liability insurance
Safe Sport
