Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Part-Time Controller to oversee our financial management, accounting operations, inventory control, and regulatory reporting functions. Starting at a minimum of 20 hours per week, this position offers direct exposure to core business operations with the potential to transition into a full-time role within the next year as our operations expand. The Comptroller will ensure accuracy in financial statements, manage assets, direct cash flow, enforce internal controls, and provide strategic insight to the management team.

Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare key weekly indicators, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, balance sheets, and budget-to-actual variance reports for leadership. Inventory Control & Management Oversight: Supervise inventory accounting operations, including hardware stocking levels, physical counts, asset valuations, valuation reserves, cost of goods sold (COGS) accuracy, and shrinkage prevention. General Ledger & Accounting Operations: Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, accounts receivable/payable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations. Cash Flow Management: Monitor daily cash flow, project future liquidity, and manage vendor/client credit terms. Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain internal financial controls to safeguard inventory and financial assets while ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Audit & Tax Support: Act as the primary point of contact for external CPAs during annual tax filings and financial reviews. Operational Oversight: Work alongside management to optimize sales margins, address strategies to control COGS including shipping and COS, optimize expenses.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required (CPA or Master’s degree preferred).

Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting or controller experience, with a strong background in inventory management and asset tracking (preferably within a B2B technology reseller, VAR, or hardware distributor).Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in QuickBooks, PSA / Connectwise, Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs) and motivated to further explore and automate using google apps. Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP, sales tax compliance, and inventory accounting principles (FIFO, weighted average, etc.).Attributes: High level of integrity, analytical mindset, and exceptional communication skills to present financial and operational data clearly and help the management team optimize company performance. Workplace: Hybrid model based out of our Nashville headquarters (periodic on-site presence required for team alignment, inventory audits, and monthly close).
