Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Frontend Engineering Manager to lead our mobile and web frontend teams across Android, iOS, React Native, and Next.js. The ideal candidate will have deep, recent hands-on React Native experience, a strong native iOS and Android development background, and production experience building or leading Next.js web applications. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and architectural decision-making to modernize our mobile platform and align it with our React-based web experience while ensuring continuity of existing functionality and user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of frontend engineers working across Android, iOS, React Native, and Next.js.
- Own the technical strategy and roadmap for migrating legacy native mobile applications (Android/Kotlin/Java and iOS/Swift/Objective-C) into a unified React Native codebase, preferably using an incremental brownfield approach.
- Oversee the Next.js web frontend, including architecture decisions involving server-side rendering, static generation, client-side rendering, routing, data fetching, and web performance.
- Drive code and design-system sharing between React Native and Next.js where appropriate, including shared TypeScript business logic, API clients, design tokens, and component patterns.
- Define and enforce best practices for incremental migration while minimizing disruption to existing application functionality, performance, and release schedules.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineering teams to align technical execution with business and user experience goals.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and code quality standards for hybrid native/React Native applications and Next.js web applications.
- Drive decisions on native module bridging, third-party library evaluation, and platform-specific technical challenges during migration.
- Manage sprint planning, technical estimations, and delivery timelines across mobile and web initiatives.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance on architecture, performance optimization, and application stability.
- Oversee native-to-React Native integration, including navigation bridging, Turbo
- Modules/JSI, and lifecycle handoff.
- Own production monitoring, crash analytics, and performance metrics, including App Store and Play Store ratings, crash-free rates, mobile load times, Core Web Vitals, SEO health, and web performance.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and career development of mobile and web engineers.
- Stay current with Android/iOS platform updates, React Native and Next.js releases, and developments across the React ecosystem.
