Job Description: Job Description San Diego, CA 92121 (100% Onsite) | 2nd Shift | $20.10/hrATR International is seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to support a client in San Diego, CA. This role performs a variety of operations to assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and sheet metal enclosures, working from assembly prints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to build drawers, chassis, enclosures, and racks.

Responsibilities:

Assemble mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and sheet metal enclosures per assembly prints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Perform hand soldering, wire harnessing, and cabling on assembly units
Determine and/or follow proper methods and sequence of operations for assigned tasks
Perform routine go/no-go testing of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies
Set up test devices using hand tools or automated test methods
Document test results and maintain logs/records of malfunctions as needed
Perform repair work and other duties as assigned
Work on assignments of moderate complexity requiring sound judgment and initiative in resolving problems

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent 6+ months of mechanical assembly experience
Working knowledge of component polarity
Ability to read and work from schematics/drawings
Experience with soldering, wire-wrapping, and cable harnessing
Ability to use hand tools and testing equipment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with IPC-610 standards; SMT machine experience and ESD knowledge a plus
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills

Details

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hrs/day, 40 hrs/week

Shift: 2nd shift, 2:30 PM – 11:30 PM PST
