Network Engineer

Job Overview: The position of Network Administrator II is to manage and support the organization’s network and connectivity systems. This role is responsible for maintaining reliable and secure network operations, including firewall management, VPN connectivity, and multi-site communication, within a primarily on-premises environment. As part of a small IT team, this position requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting, ownership of network performance and availability, and the ability to work across both network and systems layers. The ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting critical infrastructure, collaborating with team members, and contributing to day-to-day IT operations as needed.

Experience Have a high school diploma or GED and six years of hands-on network administration experience in a business environment-or-Have a bachelor’s degree six years of hands-on network administration experience in a business environment Certification may be required in some areas Have two to five years of experience in a related area of responsibility Experience with Fortinet firewalls (FortiGate required; FortiSwitch/FortiAP preferred) Hands-on experience with SSL VPN and IPSec tunnel configuration and troubleshooting Solid understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, and firewall concepts Experience with enterprise wireless networking and troubleshooting Ability to troubleshoot issues across network, firewall, and system layers Familiarity with Windows environment and Active Directory
