Jeffrey Michael Capital recently launchedCommunity ImpactWorks, a Detroit-first initiative focused on funders, nonprofits, businesses, and mission-driven organizations strengthen the operating capabilities that turn investment and opportunity into sustainable results. We are looking for an entrepreneurial executive to work directly alongside JMC's CEO to continue developing, growing, and leading the initiative. Community ImpactWorks is not starting from an idea. The strategy, positioning, operating direction, and market foundation are in place. The next stage is about expanding relationships, developing funded and commercial opportunities, leading engagements, strengthening delivery, and continuing to build a sustainable business around the work. This is a hands-on executive role for someone who understands bothimpact and business. The right person will be comfortable working with funders, foundations, nonprofit leaders, economic-development organizations, corporate partners, entrepreneurs, and business owners. Just as important, they need to understand what happens inside an organization after funding, support, or opportunity arrives. We are looking for someone who can build trusted relationships, recognize where operating challenges are limiting performance, turn those challenges into focused engagements, and stay involved through execution and improvement. The strongest candidates will bring: Senior leadership experience across operations, organizational performance, business growth, economic development, nonprofit leadership, advisory work, or a related field. Strong executive relationship-building and business-development capability. Demonstrated experience implementing change and improving organizations, not simply recommending what should change. Strong financial and business judgment. Experience leading people, priorities, partnerships, projects, or complex engagements. The ability to work effectively across both commercial and mission-driven environments. A builder mentality, high ownership, sound judgment, and the desire to help shape what Community ImpactWorks becomes. Experience within Detroit or Southeast Michigan's business, philanthropic, nonprofit, civic, or economic-development ecosystem is valuable, but we are not looking for one specific background or résumé. We want the right combination of operating capability, relationships, credibility, judgment, and entrepreneurial drive. This is not a role where everything has already been built and you are being asked to maintain it, and it is not a blank-sheet startup where you are expected to figure everything out alone. We will continue building it together, with increasing ownership of the day-to-day leadership and growth of the initiative. We are also open to the right person coming to us through a different structure. If you currently lead your own business, advisory practice, consultancy, or organization and see a strong strategic fit, we are open to exploring how we could work together. The structure matters less than finding the right person and the right alignment. Community ImpactWorks is in its growth stage, and the economics of this opportunity will grow with the business. It is best suited for someone who has the flexibility and conviction to participate at this stage and wants a direct role in developing the relationships, revenue, partnerships, funding, and engagements that support its growth. For the right person, this is an opportunity to help build something meaningful, commercially sustainable, and capable of making a measurable difference for organizations and businesses beginning here in Detroit.
