We're looking for a motivated Business Development Associate to help identify new opportunities and build lasting client relationships. It's a strong opportunity for an early-career professional who wants to learn the architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) market, with paid training, mentorship from our technical and leadership teams, and real room to grow. About Triax Triax Engineering, LLC provides geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and special inspections, geotechnical drilling, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments to public and private clients. Founded on the core principles of quality and ethics, we deliver technically sound, dependable solutions that support safe, successful projects.
What you'll do:
As our Business Development Associate, you'll identify and qualify new opportunities, support proposals and marketing, and keep our client and opportunity data organized and current. Day to day, you will: Build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients through calls, email, networking, and in-person meetings. Identify upcoming construction and development opportunities and monitor public and private bid sources for work that fits Triax's services. Attend pre-bid and pre-proposal meetings, site walks, conferences, and industry and association events — independently or with technical staff — capturing scope, schedule, procurement requirements, key contacts, and deadlines. Communicate opportunity details promptly to proposal, operations, and technical staff, and submit questions through the appropriate procurement or client channels. Support go/no-go decisions and help prepare qualifications packages, proposals, presentations, and marketing materials with our technical team. Schedule introductory meetings, coordinate follow-ups, and support periodic account reviews. Maintain accurate lead, contact, opportunity, and follow-up records, and track proposal activity, client feedback, and results. Represent Triax professionally and communicate our capabilities accurately.
What you bring:
At least one year of experience in business development, sales, marketing, client relations, proposal coordination, or a related professional-services, construction, or engineering field. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and confidence communicating by phone, email, video, and in person. Strong note-taking and organizational skills, with the ability to identify action items and manage multiple follow-ups and deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, and the ability to learn CRM, proposal-tracking, and lead-management tools. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to attend local meetings, site visits, and industry events. Preferred Experience in architecture, engineering, construction, commercial real estate, environmental consulting, or another professional-services industry. Familiarity with geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, special inspections, or public infrastructure projects. Experience with CRM systems, bid platforms, public procurement, proposal preparation, or professional networking. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, construction management, engineering, or a related field. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
Compensation and benefits:
The anticipated salary range for this full-time position is $55,000–$85,000 per year. Starting pay is based on relevant experience, industry knowledge, client-development skills, and other job-related qualifications.
