Position Summary Are you an experienced electrician ready to take ownership of projects and help lead a growing electrical operation in Southwest Florida? Electrical Unlimited is seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrician with 5-10+ years of field experience to join our Fort Myers team. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and has the experience and judgment to independently run electrical projects, lead crews, troubleshoot field conditions, coordinate with customers and inspectors, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to code. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for an experienced electrician who takes ownership, solves problems, communicates professionally, leads by example, and takes pride in delivering quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
Lead commercial and residential electrical projects from start to completionSupervise, train, and mentor electricians and apprenticesPlan daily work, manpower, materials, and jobsite activitiesRead and interpret electrical plans, blueprints, one-lines, and specificationsInstall, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipmentPerform electrical service upgrades, panel replacements, and equipment installationsInstall generators and backup power systemsInstall residential and commercial EV charging systems, including Level 2 and DC fast charging equipmentInstall LED and architectural lighting systems and lighting controlsAssist with battery energy storage and renewable energy installations as the Florida operation expandsEnsure work complies with the NEC, applicable Florida requirements, local codes, manufacturer specifications, and company safety standardsCoordinate inspections and communicate professionally with inspectors and AHJsIdentify jobsite issues and develop practical field solutionsMaintain accurate job documentation, material records, photos, and project informationCommunicate professionally with customers, general contractors, vendors, project managers, and other tradesHelp identify change-order conditions and communicate additional work before proceedingMaintain a clean, organized, and safe company vehicle and jobsiteEnsure assigned projects meet company expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and customer service Qualifications 5-10+ years of electrical field experience requiredStrong commercial electrical experience requiredPrevious experience running jobs and leading electrical crews strongly preferredStrong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) Experience working under Florida and Southwest Florida permitting, inspection, and electrical requirements preferredStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to read blueprints, electrical drawings, specifications, and one-line diagramsExperience with service upgrades, panels, transformers, generators, lighting, and electrical distribution systemsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong leadership and communication skillsValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordAbility to safely lift 50+ pounds and work from ladders and liftsAbility to work indoors and outdoors in Southwest Florida conditionsExperience with EV charging, generators, lighting controls, battery storage, or solar is a plusOSHA and/or other electrical safety certifications are a plusWillingness to travel occasionally when project needs require it What We're Looking For, The ideal candidate is: A natural leader who can confidently run a jobsiteDependable and accountableSafety-mindedDetail-orientedCustomer-focused A strong communicator A team playerProfessional in appearance and communicationOrganized and efficientComfortable making field decisions and solving problemsSomeone who takes pride in quality workmanshipInterested in growing with the company as our Florida operation expands What We Offer Competitive pay of approximately $28-32$ hour, based on experienceCompany vehicle for qualified candidatesHealth insurance 401(k) planPaid vacationPaid holidays - we believe time with your family shouldn't come at the expense of your paycheckOpportunities for overtimeOngoing training and industry certificationsCareer advancement opportunitiesOpportunities to work with emerging technologies including EV charging and battery storageOpportunities for advancement as Electrical Unlimited and American Energy Group expandQuarterly team-building eventsThe stability of an established Southwest Florida electrical contractor combined with the resources and growth opportunities of American Energy Group Why Join Electrical Unlimited?
