Utilities Maintenance Technician
Required Skills & Experience: Experience operating and maintaining industrial utility systems in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. Hands on experience with a variety of dirty and clean utilities, including but not limited to HVAC, steam, chilled water, electrical distribution, water systems, or wastewater treatment processes. Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude. Ability to support shift-based operations and respond to critical utility events.
Job Description: We are seeking a Utilities Maintenance Technician to join a high-performing facilities and engineering team supporting one of the world's leading pharmaceutical manufacturers. This role is responsible for the operation, monitoring, inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of critical utility systems that support GMP manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of facility infrastructure while minimizing operational disruptions and supporting business continuity.
Key Responsibilities: Operate, monitor, and maintain critical plant utility systems to ensure uninterrupted facility operations. Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities on utility equipment and infrastructure. Conduct routine inspections, equipment rounds, and system performance checks. Respond to alarms, equipment failures, and utility service interruptions, providing timely troubleshooting and resolution. Complete maintenance documentation, operating logs, work orders, and compliance records accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain utility spaces and equipment in a clean, organized, and inspection-ready condition. Support continuous improvement efforts focused on reliability, efficiency, safety, and asset performance. Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with GMP, safety, environmental, and site procedures. What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day: Monitoring utility equipment and responding to operational issues Performing maintenance on boilers, chillers, pumps, HVAC equipment, electrical distribution systems, and related infrastructure Completing routine preventive maintenance activities such as lubrication, inspections, cleaning, and operational checks Tracking and documenting system parameters, alarm history, energy consumption, and equipment performance Supporting rapid response efforts during utility or facility emergencies Partnering with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure reliable support of manufacturing activities
