Staff Accountants are you looking for an opportunity where your contributions will truly matter? LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client seeking a Staff Accountant to join a small, collaborative accounting team. This temp-to-hire opportunity gives you the chance to step into the role, build relationships with the team, learn the business, and demonstrate your strengths while being considered for long-term employment. The client is looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys variety, and is willing to pitch in wherever needed.
What You'll Do:
  • Take primary responsibility for Accounts Payable
  • Provide backup support for payroll processing and accounts receivable
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Reconcile corporate credit cards
  • Complete benefit and other account reconciliations
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Reconcile all general ledger accounts
  • Identify discrepancies or unusual activity and help research variances
  • Provide accounting support and documentation during audits
  • Pitch in with additional responsibilities as part of a small accounting team
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Strong Accounts Payable and reconciliation experience
  • Experience preparing journal entries and working within the general ledger
  • Experience pulling and reviewing accounting reports
  • Ability to recognize discrepancies or unusual results rather than simply running reports
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field combined with relevant accounting experience
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable working directly with the Controller
  • Reliable, accountable, dependable, and responsive
  • Team-player mentality with a willingness to help wherever needed
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves environment
  • QuickBooks or Sage experience highly preferred
