This role will focus on identifying new opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and supporting the growth of services delivered to municipalities, utilities, industrial clients, and other water-sector stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of regional water challenges, infrastructure needs, regulatory considerations, and public-sector procurement processes. Responsibilities include developing and executing a business development strategy for Central Texas; researching market trends, capital improvement programs, and upcoming projects; cultivating relationships with utility leaders, municipal officials, engineers, consultants, contractors, and industry partners; and qualifying opportunities that align with organizational capabilities. You will coordinate with technical, operations, marketing, and leadership teams to shape pursuit strategies, prepare proposals and presentations, and support negotiations through contract award. The role will also involve maintaining a robust sales pipeline, tracking activities and forecasts in a customer relationship management system, attending industry events, and representing the business at relevant professional and community forums. Applicants should have experience in water, wastewater, environmental services, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or a closely related field, with a demonstrated record of developing clients and securing business opportunities. Knowledge of Central Texas water markets and familiarity with public procurement, planning, and funding processes are highly desirable. Strong communication, presentation, networking, project coordination, and negotiation skills are essential, along with the ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders and work effectively across teams. A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, environmental science, public administration, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered. Regular regional travel is expected, and occasional evening or weekend attendance at industry and community events may be required.
