Role Description: The Human Resources Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, performance management, and compliance with employment laws and company policies. The Human Resources Manager will manage recruitment and onboarding processes, support training and development initiatives, and assist leaders with workforce planning and organizational development. The role also includes maintaining HR records and systems, administering benefits, and promoting a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace culture aligned with Tarter USA’s values. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and leadership to support business objectives is a key component of this role.

Analyze HR metrics and develop strategic recommendations. Communicate effectively at all organizational levels. Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Abilities Ability to: Balance strategic HR initiatives with daily operational needs. Influence without direct authority. Make sound decisions under pressure. Maintain objectivity in sensitive situations. Build credibility with hourly employees and executive leadership. Travel between manufacturing facilities as required. Adapt quickly to changing business priorities. Lead through change while maintaining employee engagement.
Qualifications: Strong skills in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management. Experience in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and talent development. Knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and regulatory compliance practices. Ability to manage HR data, maintain accurate records, and work with HRIS systems. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to build trust with team members and leadership and handle confidential information with discretion. Previous experience as an HR Manager or HR Generalist in a manufacturing, distribution, or similar environment preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience. HR certification (such as SHRM-CP or PHR) is a plus.
