Job Description: NEMT Driver (Part-Time) – Q's Transportation LLCGainesville / Alachua County, FL · W-2 Employee · Thursday & Friday, 4:30 AM – 5:30 PMAbout UsQ's Transportation is a locally owned non-emergency medical transportation company serving Gainesville and Alachua County. We specialize in wheelchair and bariatric wheelchair transport, getting patients safely to dialysis, doctor's appointments, hospital discharges, and other medical visits. Our tagline is "Care You Deserve," and we mean it: every rider should feel respected, safe, and cared for from pickup to drop-off.
The Role: We're looking for a dependable, customer service–focused driver to cover our Thursday and Friday shifts (4:30 AM – 5:30 PM). This isn't just a driving job. Many of our riders are elderly, disabled, or not feeling their best, so we need someone who's patient, friendly, and genuinely enjoys helping people. If you've worked in customer service, healthcare, caregiving, or hospitality and you're comfortable behind the wheel of a van, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do: Safely transport wheelchair and bariatric wheelchair patients to and from medical appointments across Alachua County Operate the vehicle's wheelchair lift and properly secure wheelchairs and passengers for every trip Greet riders warmly, assist them to and from the vehicle and building entrance, and communicate clearly with patients, families, and facility staff Follow the daily trip schedule and update trip statuses in real time using our dispatch app Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues Keep the van clean, stocked, and presentable Protect patient privacy in line with HIPAA guidelines Document and report any incidents, delays, or no-shows promptly
What We're Looking For: Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record At least 21 years old (insurance requirement may apply)Strong customer service skills: patient, respectful, and calm under pressure Reliable and punctual; early morning start times are a must Physically able to assist passengers and operate lift equipment Comfortable using a smartphone app for trip management Able to pass a background check and drug screening Preferred (Not Required)Prior NEMT, healthcare, caregiving, or customer service experiencePASS, CPR/First Aid, Defensive Driving and wheelchair securement certification (we can help you get certified)Schedule & Pay Thursday & Friday, 4:30 AM – 5:30 PMW-2 position, $16/hour Paid training, including our driver standards manual
