About the client: Futura Search Partners is working on this search with an established private credit manager investing across the US lower middle market. The firm provides secured debt to businesses in growth or transition, and has a long track record of structuring transactions that don’t fit a standard template.
The role: A core investment seat on a lean team. You will underwrite and execute transactions end to end, with direct exposure to borrowers and management teams.
What you’ll do: Underwrite secured credit opportunities across sectors, building the models, the thesis and the downside cases. Run diligence with management teams: financials, collateral, customers, contracts and the real drivers of repayment. Analyse asset coverage and borrowing base structures where relevant. Prepare Investment Committee memoranda and present recommendations. Support structuring, term sheet negotiation and documentation alongside counsel, through to close. Monitor portfolio positions post-close: covenant compliance, borrower performance, amendments and workout situations where they arise. Contribute to origination, screening inbound opportunities and maintaining relationships across the firm’s referral network.
What we’re looking for:
  • 2–4 years in private credit, Consulting, restructuring, debt advisory or investment banking
  • Strong credit judgement and modelling, with the ability to build from a blank page.
  • Comfortable with complex situations where the information is incomplete and the answer isn’t in a comparable transaction.
  • Directly commercial: you will spend time in front of management teams, not only advisors.
  • Clear writing, since credit memoranda are a primary output.
Nice to have: Asset-based lending or specialty finance. Middle market lending. Distressed, workout or restructuring experience. Unitranche, bridge, delayed-draw or second lien structures.
