Tax Accountant I

What You'll Do: Assist with the collection, validation, and preparation of information required for sales and use tax returns, property tax filings, business licenses, and other indirect tax compliance obligations. Prepare assigned indirect tax returns and supporting workpapers under the direction of senior tax team members. Reconcile tax accounts and analyze transactional data to identify discrepancies and support process improvement initiatives. Support state and local tax audits by gathering documentation, preparing responses to information requests, and maintaining organized audit files. Assist with exemption certificate management, including validating, organizing, and maintaining documentation to support taxability determinations. Maintain tax records and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements. Monitor tax notices received from taxing authorities and assist with research and response preparation. Collaborate with accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, and operations teams on indirect tax matters. Support tax technology initiatives and process improvement projects involving systems such as Vertex, Oracle, Alteryx, and other tax automation tools. Participate in special projects and provide support for federal and state income tax compliance and other direct tax initiatives, as needed. Stay informed of tax developments and participate in training opportunities to expand technical tax knowledge. As allowed by applicable law, this role may need to perform late night, weekend, or holiday coverage due to month, quarter and year end requirements. Who We're Looking For:0-2 years of accounting, tax, audit, or related experience, including internships preferred. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. Results-oriented individual with strong attention to detail and a desire to learn. Organized and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new concepts, systems, and tax regulations. Commitment to accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement. Ability to build effective working relationships across functions and levels of the organization. Interest in developing a career in taxation, with opportunities to gain experience in both indirect and direct tax disciplines.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday required office days for Panorama Office site; Monday, Friday-work from home.
