This position is intended for an employee who has developed foundational trade skills and is progressing toward full journeyman-level responsibilities. What You’ll Do:
- Assist office staff with submittals, equipment procurement, mechanical installations, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, specifications, and equipment documentation
- Safely use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and other trade‑related equipment
- Assist with installation and servicing of mechanical systems and components
- Perform basic measurements, inspections, adjustments, and testing under supervision
- Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in an organized and safe condition
- Follow company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and applicable trade standards
- Assist with material handling, staging, and preparation of job sites
- Identify potential equipment or installation issues and communicate them to the supervising journeyman or supervisor
- Complete required documentation, work orders, time records, and service reports
- Maintain professional conduct when interacting with customers, coworkers, contractors, and supervisors
- Perform other duties related to the position as assigned
- What You’ll Bring
- Previous mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, piping, or related trade experience preferred
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and construction practices
- Ability to use common hand and power tools safely
- Ability to read basic drawings, measurements, and written instructions
- Willingness to learn and develop toward journeyman‑level proficiency
- Ability to work safely in construction, commercial, industrial, or service environments
- Valid driver's license if required for assigned field duties
- Ability to work independently when assigned tasks are within the employee's training and authorization
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Lifting and carrying tools and materials
- Bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in confined or elevated areas
- Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Wearing required personal protective equipment
