Role Description:
The Calibration Technician – Temperature & Humidity is a full-time, on-site role based in Lafayette, NJ. This role is responsible for performing calibration, verification, and adjustment of temperature and humidity instruments and test equipment in accordance with established procedures and standards. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and operating laboratory equipment, documenting calibration results, maintaining accurate records, and preparing certificates of calibration. The technician will inspect instrumentation for proper function, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate corrective actions to ensure equipment reliability. The role also involves following quality, safety, and regulatory guidelines, communicating findings to team members, and supporting continuous improvement of calibration processes.
Job Function:
Utilizing calibration standards to calibrate, adjust, certify, maintain, and repair Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE)/process equipment using approved calibration procedures, process specifications, equipment drawings, and M&TE /process equipment manufacturer’s performance specifications. To include but not limited to hygrometers, humidity sensors, and temperature measurement devices (digital and liquid-in-glass) Plan, check, set up, and operate, basic Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and/or process equipment Generate accredited certificates with gathered measurement data and ensure the accuracy of said certificates before submission to customer/end-user Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes Provide information and clarification to customer service regarding artifacts which fail calibration Possess a working knowledge on the safe and correct use of various basic hand-tools and measuring/test equipment to accomplish desired results Ability to create, modify and manage excel spreadsheets, word documents and Adobe Acrobat/Illustrator Daily, in-person, 8:00A - 4:00PSkills & Qualifications: High level of proficiency and attention to detail to ensure all documentation, device records, inspection files, and databases are complete and accurate Maintain workload to achieve production schedules and ensure completion within timeframe Excellent organizational skills Multi-tasking and ability to maintain consistent work pace Be able to lift 5 pounds, sit/stand/walk for extended periods on a regular basis. Kneeling/squatting is a repetitive action in the lab that one must be capable of performing regularly As this position is technical in nature, the applicant should possess a strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical/scientific knowledge, and calibration experience, preferably within the ISO-17025:2017 standard Excellent communication skills and have a team-centered focus Safety Oriented High School or equivalent College or Technical Certification (preferred)
