This is a broad systems role spanning compute, storage, networking, firmware, power, thermal, and manufacturing. You'll drive architecture decisions, lead root-cause analysis across hardware, firmware, OS, and network domains, and help take platforms from prototype to production. We're looking for a strong systems thinker who's comfortable navigating ambiguity, can lead high-severity troubleshooting, communicates well across engineering, manufacturing, and business teams, and drives execution without needing formal authority.

Duration: 6 months
Location: San Diego, CA – Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Compensation: Starting at $67 per hour (W2) plus benefits
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead system-level design, integration, and validation across compute, storage, networking, power, and thermal infrastructure
- Define and validate power architecture, redundancy strategies, and thermal requirements for AI-optimized systems
- Partner with product, hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams to prototype and productionize new capabilities
- Lead complex root-cause analysis spanning hardware, firmware, OS, networking, storage, power, and thermal
- Drive manufacturability and factory readiness (production validation, engineering changes, deployment standards)
- Build validation, characterization, and automation tools (Bash, Python, C)
- Support qualification of electrical/electromechanical components (power supplies, PDUs, breakers, cabling, cooling)
- Support regulatory, EMC, and safety compliance for datacenter deployments
- Partner with global vendors and manufacturing partners on integration/deployment issues
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience 8+ years in systems, platform, or infrastructure engineering
- Strong background across server, storage, networking, or infrastructure platforms
- Datacenter power systems, redundancy models, and thermal design
- Strong Linux/command-line proficiency
- Scripting/programming in Python, Bash, and/or CDebugging/performance tools: fio, iostat, perf, sar, iperf, sysbench (or similar)
- Firmware/BIOS/BMC/iDRAC or large-scale system configuration experience
- High-speed networking (Ethernet or InfiniBand)
- Enterprise storage: NVMe, RAID, distributed storage, replication/erasure coding
- Rack-level infrastructure: PDUs, cabling, grounding, power distribution
- Manufacturing/system integration/factory deployment experience
- Comfort operating beyond one specialty into broad system ownership
- PreferredGlobal 3-phase datacenter power (regional voltage/frequency standards, grounding, breaker coordination, N/N+1/2N redundancy)AI/GPU or high-density compute infrastructure
- Thermal characterization, cooling validation, liquid cooling
- Experience with global ODM/OEM manufacturing partners
