Resident Solutions Architect
Type: Full-time
Seniority: Senior / Principal
About the Role: We're hiring a Resident Solutions Architect for a leading Databricks consulting and systems-integration partner. ("Resident" means you're embedded directly with the end client — working on-site alongside their team rather than from a distance.)As the senior technical lead on the engagement, you'll design how the client's entire data and AI platform fits together on Databricks before it gets built — making the architecture decisions that everything else depends on. You'll work hands-on with stakeholders, guide delivery teams, and act as the trusted technical authority on the project. This is a high-impact, client-facing role for someone who can translate business needs into a sound, scalable data architecture and earn the trust of the people they work with day to day.
What You'll Do: Design end-to-end data and AI architectures on the Databricks platform.- Lead solution design sessions and make the key technical decisions for the engagement.- Build data models and define how data flows through the system.- Embed on-site with the client team, serving as their primary technical point of contact.- Guide and mentor engineering teams to deliver against the architecture.- Translate business requirements into clear, scalable technical solutions.
Must-Have: Qualifications- Hands-on Databricks experience — this is the single most important requirement. Please do not apply for this role if you do not have databricks experience & certification- Strong data architecture and data modeling background.- Deep experience with the Databricks Lakehouse, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog.*(Lakehouse = Databricks' all-in-one approach that combines a data warehouse and a data lake. Delta Lake = the storage format that keeps that data reliable. Unity Catalog = Databricks' tool for governing and securing data.)*- Proficiency with Apache Spark *(the engine Databricks uses to process very large datasets)*.- Experience architecting solutions on a major cloud.- Excellent communication skills and a track record in client-facing or consulting roles.- Willingness to work on-site in Chesterfield, Missouri.
Nice-to-Have: Databricks certifications (e.g., Databricks Certified Data Engineer or Machine Learning) — a strong plus.- Databricks Champion designation — highly desirable.- Prior consulting or systems-integration experience.- Experience with other cloud data platforms such as Snowflake (a bonus, not a substitute for Databricks).
Why Join: You'll work at the center of high-value data and AI projects with a recognized Databricks specialist partner, embedded with clients on problems that matter, alongside a team of senior practitioners.
