Intern - Communications - Corporate

Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Drafting internal and external communications, including social media posts Composing articles using information gathered in interviews Developing public relations materials (such as newsletters, infographics, videos, etc.) Planning and assisting with company events and initiatives Supporting human resource functions as they relate to organization and communication Other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities N/A

Education/Experience To be considered, an individual MUST be enrolled in a college degree program and will have completed their freshman year of college. Must be in good academic standing, with at least a 3.0 GPA. Preferred majors of study include: public relations, marketing, journalism and/or communications. MUST be available for a 12-week program beginning in Late‑May to Mid‑August. Certification/Licensure N/A

Skills and Abilities: Ability to clearly communicate with co‑workers, supervisors and others. Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to read and understand operating procedures. Ability to work unsupervised as required. While performing the duties of this position, the employee: Works in an office environment, with limited exposure to the power plant and coal mine. Exposed to a quiet to moderately noisy environment primarily; very noisy and dirty environment occasionally. Exposed to industrial safety hazards occasionally.

Compensation and Benefits: At Prairie State, the base pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this role is $25.00 per hour Undergraduate level and $28.00 per hour Graduate level.
