TheBoys & Girls Club of Worcesteris looking for aSchool Age Child Care Lead Staffmember to help create a fun, safe, and engaging after-school experience for children ages 5-13. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with youth and wants to have a meaningful impact in their community.
Please note: Per EEC regulations, all applicantsmust be at least 21 years old.
What You'll Do:
As a Lead Staff member, you'll be a mentor, role model, activity coordinator, problem solver, and cheerleader all rolled into one! You'll help plan and lead a variety of educational, recreational, and enrichment activities while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for every child.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate programs and activities
- Creating a positive and engaging after-school environment
- Supporting children's social, emotional, and academic development
- Ensuring compliance with EEC regulations and Club policies
- Providing homework and academic support when needed
- Utilizing technology and remote learning tools to support participants
- Communicating effectively with parents, caregivers, and fellow staff
- Assisting with special events, programs, and Club initiatives
- Performing light cleaning and maintaining organized program spaces
- Contributing wherever needed to help the Club succeed

Physical Requirements:
This is an active role! You should be able to: Remain on your feet and physically active for up to 3 hours at a time Lift and carry up to 25 pounds Participate in indoor and outdoor activities with children
Requirements:
QualificationsTo meetEEC requirements, candidates must be at least 21 years oldand meetone of the following qualifications :Have a Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degreeandthree months of experience working with school-age children; ORHave a High School Diploma or equivalentandsix months of experience working with school-age children, including three months of supervised experience in a school-age childcare program; ORHave nine months of experience working with school-age children, including three months of supervised experience in a school-age childcare program. Confidence providing academic support and homework assistance Strong computer and technology skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Understanding of group dynamics and youth leadership Demonstrated organizational and project management abilitiesCPR and First Aid certification preferred Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, but not required Why Join the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester?
