Microsoft Power Platform Administrator - Remote, EST We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Power Platform Administrator to support the administration, governance, security, and operational management of enterprise Power Platform solutions. This is a remote contract role with contract-to-hire potential, paying between $60-65/hr, depending on qualifications and experience. Candidates must be located in the northeastern United States. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform administration, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, PowerShell automation, and application lifecycle management (ALM). This role will focus on maintaining secure platform operations, managing environments, supporting automation initiatives, and ensuring scalable adoption of Power Platform capabilities across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Administration & Governance:
  • Administer and support Microsoft Power Platform environments, including configuration, security settings, and platform governance.
  • Manage environment policies, security roles, connectors, and Dataverse configurations.
  • Establish governance standards for application development, deployment, and platform usage.
  • Support ALM processes and ensure solutions follow established development and deployment standards.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational security and governance requirements. Capacity & Platform Optimization
  • Monitor platform usage, storage capacity, API consumption, and licensing requirements.
  • Analyze adoption trends and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Proactively identify capacity risks and support planning for future platform growth.
  • Improve platform performance and operational efficiency. Security Access Management
  • Manage user access, security roles, permissions, and environment-level controls.
  • Support role-based access management and periodic access reviews.
  • Ensure appropriate security controls are applied across applications, data sources, and integrations.
  • Assist with compliance activities and remediation of access-related issues. Automation & Integration
  • Develop PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks, environment management, user administration, and deployments.
  • Create automation solutions using Microsoft cloud services and scripting tools.
  • Develop and support Power Automate workflows, custom connectors, and API-based integrations.
  • Troubleshoot automation issues and optimize workflow performance.
Application Lifecycle Management & Deployment:
  • Design and support CI/CD processes for Power Apps, Power Automate solutions, and Dataverse components.
  • Automate solution packaging, validation, promotion, and deployment across environments.
  • Support release management activities and improve deployment consistency.
  • Collaborate with development teams to establish effective ALM practices. Monitoring & Operational Support
  • Implement monitoring, auditing, and reporting processes for Power Platform environments.
  • Track platform health, usage, and compliance metrics.
  • Troubleshoot platform issues and provide technical support.
  • Maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Required Qualifications & Experience 8+ years of IT experience with significant hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Power Platform environments. Strong experience with:
  • Power Platform Admin CenterPower AppsPower Automate
  • DataversePowerShell scriptingCI/CD and deployment processesALM practices
  • Experience managing enterprise applications, security roles, connectors, and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of governance, security, and compliance practices. Required Certifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant (PL-200)
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer (PL-400)
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Solution Architect Expert (PL-600)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Power Platform governance frameworks and enterprise adoption.
  • Knowledge of automation platforms, Azure services, and integration patterns.
  • Experience supporting application performance optimization and troubleshooting.
