Grow Your Skills, Make an Impact, and Keep Your Weekends
At Germantown Animal Hospital, we're growing—and we're looking for the right Veterinary Assistant to grow with us. This is a cross-trained Client Service Representative position. We're a busy small-animal practice that takes pride in providing high-quality medicine while creating an experience that keeps clients and their pets coming back year after year. Just as importantly, we've worked hard to create a team where people help each other, keep learning, and know their contributions matter. And yes, we really mean no weekends. Our hospital is open Monday through Friday, giving our team a predictable schedule and their weekends back. This is an opportunity to be actively involved in patient care, strengthen your clinical skills, and work alongside a team that wants you to succeed.
Why Our Cross-Trained Veterinary Assistants / Client Service Representatives Love It Here
No weekends and a predictable Monday–Friday schedule
Hands-on training and opportunities to continue developing your veterinary skills
Meaningful involvement in patient care—not just standing on the sidelines
Exposure to wellness and sick-patient care, dentistry, surgery, anesthesia, diagnostics, and more
A supportive, collaborative team that genuinely helps one another
Leadership that welcomes questions, ideas, initiative, and continued growth
A hospital that values both high-quality medicine and an exceptional client experience
A workplace where people work hard, celebrate the wins, and still make room to laugh
What our Cross-Trained Veterinary Assistants / Client Service Representatives Do
Obtain patient histories and vitals and assist veterinarians during appointments
Provide safe, compassionate patient handling and restraint
Assist with blood draws, sample collection, laboratory testing, and radiographs
Prepare patients and equipment for surgical and dental procedures
Assist with anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and patient nursing care as your training and skills allow
Prepare medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
Educate clients and help them understand their pet's care, medications, and next steps
Maintain accurate medical records
Keep treatment and exam areas clean, stocked, and ready
Jump in to support teammates and keep patient flow moving throughout the day
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys veterinary medicine and wants to be an active part of the team.
Candidates must have at least two years of veterinary hospital experience OR have completed or be currently enrolled in a Veterinary Assistant program with applicable clinical training.
Beyond your clinical foundation, you'll be a great fit if you are:
Reliable, compassionate, and eager to learn
Comfortable communicating with clients and coworkers
Ready to take ownership of your responsibilities
Willing to jump in when your teammates need support
Comfortable asking questions or requesting help when needed
Able to stay positive and focused when the day gets busy
Interested in continuing to strengthen your veterinary knowledge and hands-on skills
Committed to treating clients, patients, and coworkers with empathy and respect
You don't have to know everything on day one. We care about the skills you already bring, but we also care about where you want to go. Whether you want to become stronger in radiology, dentistry, anesthesia, laboratory work, surgery, or patient care, we want to help you keep moving forward.
The Extras You'll Actually Feel
At Germantown Animal Hospital, teamwork isn't just something we put in a job ad. We want team members who ask for help and offer it, keep learning, take pride in doing things well, and take ownership of their role.
We also know veterinary medicine can produce some pretty ridiculous moments. We take patient care seriously, but we don't believe we have to take ourselves seriously all the time. There's room here to work hard, celebrate the wins, support your coworkers, and laugh at the things that inevitably happen when you spend your days working with animals.
And when the workweek is over? Your weekends are yours.
