This role plays a key part in medication preparation, inventory management, sterile and non-sterile compounding, and maintaining an organized, compliant, and efficient pharmacy environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced long-term care (LTC) pharmacy setting, with strong technical skills and a commitment to accuracy, safety, and teamworkQualificationsCurrent state registration as a Pharmacy Technician in good standingPharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferredIV certification preferredAbility to read, write, and speak the English language fluentlyEssential FunctionsEnter prescription and physician order data into the pharmacy's data processing systemPull stock bottles and prepare medications for packaging and dispensingAffix prescription and auxiliary labels to medication containersReconstitute medications as requiredPackage and label pre-packaged medicationsAssemble and audit emergency kitsPerform sterile and non-sterile compounding in accordance with regulations and best practicesProcure and stock pharmaceuticals and ancillary suppliesAssist with inventory management and cycle countsSupport maintenance of pharmacy equipment, environmental controls, cleanliness, and organizationUtilize pharmacy operating systems, digital imaging software, automated dispensing systems, and Microsoft applicationsParticipate in scheduling, coordination, and preparation of medication deliveriesAssist with training newly hired technicians and student externs as assignedSupport auditing of patient records as neededParticipate in continuous quality improvement initiativesPromote teamwork, communication, and a positive work environmentEnsure patient and resident safety at all timesPerform other duties as assignedWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
