Associate Attorney: Crystal Lake and Schaumburg Offices Bruning & Associates, P.C.Bruning & Associates, P.C. is a general civil litigation and business transactions firm with offices in Chicago, Schaumburg, and Crystal Lake. We represent individuals, families, and small and mid-sized businesses throughout the Chicago area. Our team of seven attorneys, supported by three paralegals, two administrative assistants, and a business manager, provides the resources of an established firm with the collegiality of a small one. We are hiring two associate attorneys, one for our Crystal Lake office and one for our Schaumburg office.
The opportunity:
This role is for an attorney who wants real responsibility early. Our associates take and defend depositions, conduct evidentiary hearings, and try cases early in their careers. They work directly with clients, manage their own caseloads, and are mentored by experienced attorneys who want them to succeed. We also actively help our associates build their own client base and book of business. If you want to develop as a skilled trial lawyer and build a practice of your own, without a daily commute to the Loop, we would like to talk with you.
Practice areas
Litigation: commercial, employment, estate and trust, personal injury, construction, consumer fraud, and family law.
Transactional: estate planning, residential and commercial real estate, business formation and succession planning, business purchases and sales, and other commercial and consumer transactions.
What we're looking for:
- Licensed in Illinois (or awaiting bar results), with three or more years of litigation and/or transactional experience preferred
- Attorneys with one to three years of relevant experience, and newly admitted attorneys, are encouraged to apply
- Strong writing and research skills, sound judgment, and a client-first approach
- Interest in building long-term relationships with clients, colleagues, and the community
Compensation and benefits:
- Base salary of $95,000 to $135,000 annually, based on experience
- A performance bonus that rewards productivity directly: your total compensation, including base salary, bonus, and benefits, is equalized to one-third of the fees collected for the legal services you bill. The more you produce, the more you earn.
