Principal and Secretary/TreasurerBeginning Date: Open Until FilledKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Skilled in the operation of technologically current microcomputer equipment and peripheralsKnowledge of student accounting procedures and regulationsKnowledge of source data and operations of school from which source data originatesAbility to independently exercise judgment in correcting data errors or omissionsEducation and Training: Computer skills, FAX machine, printers, computer networking system, electronic calculator, optical mark scanners, and photocopierTerm of Employment: 12 monthsSalary: Salary Grade 57FLSA Status: Non-ExemptPerformance Responsibilities: Operating microcomputers, optical mark scanners, and printersUnderstanding the constraints of the student information management system in order to identify and correct data errors and to generate federal, state, and local reports effectivelyReviewing source documents and computer listings for the purposes of identifying and correcting dataEntering and reporting data with extra care and constant attention to the security of confidential student informationHandling all incoming/outgoing facsimilesHelping with receipting money from teachers during the school dayAssisting secretary/treasurer with any other duties assignedExplaining school policy to parents both on the telephone and in personAssisting teachers with copy work and suppliesPerforming other duties, as necessary, to assist with school administrationPhysical Requirements: Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of timeAbility to reach with hands and arms routinelyAbility to bend, stoop, carry, push, or pullAbility to carry furniture such as tables and chairs, supplies and materialsMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds routinely and 30 pounds occasionallyMust be able to facilitate the evacuation of students during emergency situations and/or drillsMust be able to visually and auditorily effectively communicate with staff and othersMust be able to tolerate a noisy, busy work environment with occasional very loud noisesOnslow County Schools does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs and activities.
