Laundry Aide

Requirements: Assist with daily laundry operations, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, mending, and distributing linens and garments. Ensure an adequate and consistent supply of clean linens and garments to meet the needs of the Sisters and the facility. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laundry area in accordance with infection control and safety standards. Properly handle, store, and mix cleaning agents and disinfectants according to established procedures. Monitor inventory levels of linens and laundry supplies and report needs to the Director of Laundry Services. Assist with basic equipment care and cleaning and promptly report maintenance concerns. Accurately follow departmental procedures and assist with light recordkeeping as directed. Mend or repair garments and linens as needed. Provide prompt, courteous service and respond to Sisters' laundry-related requests or concerns with kindness and respect. Assist with training new staff as requested. Work collaboratively with other departments to support the overall needs of the Health Center. Perform additional duties as assigned to support smooth facility operations.

Skills and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment, processes, and best practices is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized. Ability to work efficiently, manage time well, and remain calm in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to teamwork and service. The ability to work weekends and holidays as needed, or on a rotational basis. Ability to maintain confidentiality and treat all Sisters with dignity and respect.
