The Project Manager oversees the full project lifecycle, owns projects from start to finish, and plays a key role in the growth and success of a rapidly expanding construction company.
Responsibilities:
Manage multiple commercial and residential construction projects concurrently from preconstruction through closeout.
Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
Coordinate closely with owners, subcontractors, architects, vendors, and field personnel to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents to guide project planning and field activities.
Monitor project progress regularly and proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact schedule, budget, or quality.
Manage change orders, maintain accurate project documentation, and ensure proper tracking and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct site visits as needed to assess progress, verify quality, and support field teams in resolving on-site challenges.
Support and guide field teams to ensure adherence to project plans, safety practices, and quality standards.
Assist with project estimating, quantity takeoffs, and pricing activities when required.
Oversee a variety of project types, including high-end residential additions and renovations, retail and commercial renovations, tenant improvements and buildouts, gas station and convenience store projects, and fitness facilities.
Essential SkillsAt least 3 years of Project Management experience in commercial and/or residential construction, including additions, tenant buildouts, and renovation projects.
Proven experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
Strong understanding of construction scheduling and project coordination across all phases of construction.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related project documents.
Solid understanding of the residential construction process, including home additions and renovation projects.
Experience with tenant improvement and tenant buildout projects (preferred but strongly valued).Demonstrated capability in construction budgeting and cost control.
Experience with commercial construction, including retail and other commercial renovation projects.
Proficiency in supporting estimation and takeoff activities.
High level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with tenant buildouts and tenant improvements across various commercial spaces.
Experience in retail and commercial renovation projects, including interior and exterior scopes.
Exposure to gas station and convenience store construction or renovation projects.
Experience managing projects for fitness facilities and similar specialized environments.
Hands-on experience with high-end residential additions and renovations.
Construction management or project management experience in both residential and commercial settings.
Roofing project experience is a plus.
Desire to take ownership of projects from start to finish and contribute directly to company growth.
Comfort working closely with a leadership team in a growing, entrepreneurial environment.
Work Environment:
This is a remote role with standard hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Project Manager collaborates closely with the leadership team and enjoys a culture that values work-life balance and sustainable workloads. While the position is remote, site visits may be required to support project execution and field teams. The organization operates as a growing construction company with projected annual revenue of approximately $5 million, offering a setting where Project Managers maintain full ownership of projects from start to finish rather than overseeing only a small portion of larger jobs. Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of St. Clair Shores, MI.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Unlimited PTO 6 Holidays Benefits not included but will have discussion on offering more in comp or paying for outside benefits Workplace TypeThis is a fully remote position.
