You will use your expert knowledge of aviation maintenance principles, concepts, regulations, and maintenance management. You will plan and organize work, supervise staff, and lead projects involving multiple funding sources, staffing needs, and long-term production planning. You will use your knowledge of production requirements from the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) and understand how Fleet Readiness Centers (FRC) help meet those needs. You will use your consultative skills to develop and implement new ideas, principles, and methods in aviation maintenance management. Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional AIRCRAFT PRODUCTION MANAGER performing some or all of the following duties: Utilizing experience in trade skills related to aircrafts and/or components to modify manufacturing processes, procedures, and tolerances; Managing employees across all trades and labor occupations and serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in aviation maintenance and aviation maintenance management; Planning and directing work to be completed by subordinates, while managing funding, manpower, and long range production plans; Developing improved aviation maintenance methods and processes to increase efficiency and quality; Managing production requirements as outlined in the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP), to ensure deadlines are met within budget.
