Position Summary: We are currently recruiting a Business Service Rep. This full-time position pays $19.00 an hour and is located in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Business Service Rep. helps job seekers and career changers prepare for and advance in careers, with a focus on sustainable, high-growth, high-demand industries. This position develops employer relationships, identifies employment opportunities, and collaborates with case management staff to match candidates with suitable positions. Services are delivered through integrated career centers, sector-focused centers, community locations, and partner sites.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Conduct searches for suitable job openings, comparing client qualifications with employer requirements. Develop a wide variety of employment opportunities for candidates. Establish and maintain active, frequent contact with employers. Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the local labor market, employer needs, and hiring trends. Establish rapport with area businesses and maintain ongoing relationships. Work with businesses to identify job openings, alternative work activities, and training initiatives. Assist employers in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified applicants. Maintain a current listing of local employment opportunities. Keep project staff informed of local business needs and job placement opportunities. Collaborate with case management staff to facilitate job placements. Enlist the cooperation of community and business leaders to increase awareness of available workforce services. Maintain follow-up contact with employers to assess satisfaction with services and identify opportunities for quality improvement. Arrange opportunities for employers to speak with candidates about employment opportunities and workplace expectations. Coordinate job fairs and employer hiring events. Occasionally work outside normal business hours to support events or meet deadlines. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Working Conditions
Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated. Ability to collaborate effectively with teams. Excellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor. Strong presentation skills, supported by public speaking or outside sales experience. Familiarity with the communities served, including local needs and resources. Demonstrated knowledge of labor market trends. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position. Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal business hours for events or deadlines. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or at least two years of work experience in business-to-business sales, marketing, customer service, staffing, or recruiting. Sales or staffing experience preferred. Valid driver’s license in good standing and proof of current automobile insurance required.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional work outside normal business hours may be required for hiring events or deadlines. The regular work schedule is to be confirmed. Travel may be required.
