We are partnering with a well-established food manufacturing organization to identify a Sanitation Supervisor to lead sanitation operations at a high-volume production facility. This individual will oversee sanitation teams, ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, and drive improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and operational performance. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on leader who understands the importance of sanitation in food manufacturing and enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and working collaboratively across departments. The Sanitation Supervisor will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, compliant production environment while supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do: Lead daily sanitation operations, supervising team leaders, full-time employees, and contract personnel. Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety regulations, sanitation procedures, and workplace safety standards. Manage sanitation schedules, labor resources, chemical supplies, and equipment to meet operational and production requirements. Monitor sanitation performance metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement corrective actions to improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency. Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures, sanitation documentation, and employee training programs. Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to coordinate sanitation activities, equipment maintenance, and production schedules. Maintain and support the Master Sanitation Schedule, inspection records, corrective action logs, and sanitation compliance documentation. Oversee chemical usage, titration testing, and relationships with chemical and pest control vendors. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles, root cause analysis, 5S, and other process improvement tools. Coach, train, and develop sanitation employees, providing performance feedback and building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Support sanitation-related audits, inspections, and corrective action plans to maintain food safety and regulatory compliance.
What We're Looking For: 3+ years of sanitation, food safety, or quality supervisory experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of GMPs, food safety requirements, sanitation procedures, and regulatory compliance. Experience leading sanitation teams in a manufacturing environment, including scheduling, labor management, employee development, and performance accountability. Knowledge of Master Sanitation Schedules and sanitation documentation requirements. Experience applying Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools, including root cause analysis, Kaizen, 5S, and process improvement methodologies. Ability to evaluate operational performance, analyze data, and implement sustainable improvements. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively across departments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and utilize manufacturing software systems. Experience in large-scale or high-volume food manufacturing is a plus. Experience preparing for SQF or BRC audits, performing ATP swab testing, or delivering employee training is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are a plus. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that may include wet or humid conditions, varying temperatures, elevated work areas, and extended periods of standing.
The Ideal Candidate: The right person will be a visible, hands-on leader who takes ownership of sanitation performance and understands how food safety, production efficiency, and employee development work together. They will be comfortable leading teams on the production floor, addressing challenges as they arise, and holding employees accountable to established standards. Strong collaboration with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams will be essential, along with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement lasting solutions. Why This Opportunity? Leadership Impact: Take ownership of sanitation operations and directly influence food safety, quality, and operational performance. Team Development: Lead and develop a team of sanitation professionals while building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and plant leadership to support manufacturing operations. Continuous Improvement: Play an active role in improving sanitation processes, labor efficiency, safety, and overall operational effectiveness. Operational Responsibility: Gain meaningful responsibility for sanitation performance, resource management, and compliance within a high-volume food manufacturing environment.
