Account Manager – Transportation & Logistics
Location: Tampa, FL
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $50,000 – $60,000 Base Salary + Commission
Career Level: Entry Level to Experienced
About the Role: CoVar Transportation is hiring Account Managers to support our growing portfolio of customers and freight operations. This is not a traditional sales or individual-contributor role. Our Account Managers manage and grow customer accounts that have already been secured by CoVar's sales team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of those accounts—making sure freight moves successfully, customers receive fast and accurate communication, problems are solved before they escalate, and the account continues to grow. For candidates without freight brokerage experience, this is an entry-level opportunity with significant earning and career-growth potential. We are particularly interested in motivated professionals who are a few years into their careers and want a role where increased responsibility, account growth, and strong performance directly translate into increased compensation. Candidates with prior freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, or account-management experience may enter at a higher level based on their experience and the size and complexity of the workload they are prepared to manage.
Compensation & Levels: Account Manager I – $50,000 Base + 6% CommissionAM I is our entry-level Account Manager position. Candidates do not need previous freight brokerage experience. This level is designed for professionals who can learn quickly, communicate effectively, handle a fast-paced workload, and develop into larger account responsibilities. Account Manager II – $60,000 Base + 6% CommissionAM II is intended for candidates with relevant freight, logistics, or account-management experience who can take ownership of a larger or more complex workload. Placement at this level is based on experience and demonstrated ability to manage significant customer volume and operational responsibility. Commission is based on the accounts managed, giving Account Managers meaningful upside as their responsibilities and book of business grow.
What You'll Do: Manage the daily execution and service of assigned customer accounts. Serve as an operational point of contact for customers and internal teams. Coordinate with Carrier Sales and operations teams to ensure customer freight is covered and serviced successfully. Monitor pickups, deliveries, appointments, tracking, and other critical shipment milestones. Communicate proactively with customers regarding delays, changes, recoveries, and service issues. Solve problems quickly in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment. Maintain accurate shipment information and account documentation in company systems. Help protect customer scorecards, service metrics, and long-term relationships. Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts through exceptional execution and customer service. Take on increasingly larger and more complex accounts as performance and experience grow. Who We're Looking ForWe are looking for competitive, organized, accountable professionals who want more responsibility and earning potential than a traditional entry-level corporate position.
The ideal candidate: Has a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. Is early in their professional career and looking for a role with substantial upward mobility, or has previous freight/logistics experience and is ready to manage a larger book of business. Communicates clearly and professionally with customers and coworkers. Can prioritize multiple urgent tasks without losing attention to detail. Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. Takes ownership of problems rather than waiting for someone else to solve them. Is motivated by measurable performance and compensation tied to results. Wants to build a career rather than simply fill a position. Previous freight brokerage or transportation experience is not required for AM I. Relevant experience will be considered when determining AM I versus AM II placement. Career GrowthThis position is designed to have significant upside. As CoVar continues to grow, successful Account Managers can take responsibility for larger customers, higher shipment volumes, and more complex accounts. Because compensation includes commission on the accounts you manage, increased responsibility creates a direct path toward increased earnings. Someone entering as an AM I can develop into an AM II and ultimately into senior account management, major-account leadership, sales, or broader operational leadership roles. If you are looking for an opportunity where your responsibility, compensation, and career trajectory can grow substantially based on performance, we want to hear from you.
