Generator - Shop Technician or Field Service Technician

Responsibilities: Primary Responsibilities: • Troubleshoot, repair, and service equipment (generators, diesel and/or gas engines, transfer switches, switch gear, and etc.) using proper tools and procedures • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently; work orders, service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts • Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met • Complete all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations • Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in work area Supervisory Responsibilities: • No formal responsibility for supervising others Qualifications III.

Required: • High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience • 3 years or more of mechanical experience with engines/generators Preferred: • 5 years or more experience with engines/generators, preferably Caterpillar equipment • Experience with transfer switches, switch gear, uninterrupted power source (UPS) equipment IV. Physical Requirements of Position:• Occasional confined sitting (at computer, in car, etc.) • Occasional non-confined sitting (able to move about at will.) • Frequent standing or walking • Frequent rapid use of arms, hands or fingers, in handling or manipulating objects, or operating equipment, tools and/or instruments requiring fine eye-hand coordination • Frequent repeated bending, crouching, stretching, up and down stairs, or crawling • Frequent unaided lifting of objects up to 20 pounds; Occasional unaided lifting of objects up to 75 pounds • Frequent working at heights (such as scaffolding, rooftops, or ladders) • Frequent communication with other individuals.
